Privacy Policy
Last updated September 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ShadiKaJora (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our website and services (the “Service”). ShadiKaJora is an online marketplace where people buy, rent, sell, and rent out Indian and Pakistani wedding and festive wear.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use ShadiKaJora.
1. Who we are
ShadiKaJora operates the website at shadikajora.com. For privacy questions, contact us at hello@shadikajora.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information from sign-in providers, and information created as you use the Service.
Account information. When you sign up with email, we collect your name, email address, password (stored as a one-way hash — we cannot read your password), and whether you are a buyer or seller. If you become a seller or an admin, we store that role.
Google and Facebook sign-in. If you continue with Google or Facebook, we receive the identifier those services assign to your account, plus your name and email (if you allow the provider to share them). We store the provider name and provider account ID so we can recognize you on later visits. We do not receive or store your Google or Facebook password.
Listings and uploads. If you list an outfit, we collect the title, description, designer, size, category, price, sale or rental type, and photos you upload.
Wishlists, checkout, and orders. We store listings you save, and order records needed to complete a purchase or rental (listing, buyer, seller, amount, and payment status).
Payments (Stripe). Card and bank details are collected and processed by Stripe, not by us. We may store Stripe session or payment identifiers and the amount paid so we can confirm checkout and update listing status. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Technical data. We and our hosting providers may log IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited to operate, secure, and debug the Service.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create and secure your account, including email/password and Google or Facebook sign-in
- Show listings, wishlists, and your seller or admin dashboard
- Process checkout through Stripe and mark listings as sold or completed
- Review new listings before they go live
- Communicate about your account, orders, or service changes
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service
- Improve the Service (for example, understanding which categories people browse)
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
If you are in a region that requires a legal basis for processing (such as the EEA, UK, or similar), we typically rely on: performing our contract with you (providing the marketplace); our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the Service); your consent (for example, optional cookies or marketing, if we add them); and legal obligations.
7. How long we keep information
We keep account and listing data while your account is active and as long as needed for orders, disputes, security, and legal records. OAuth provider IDs are kept so we can recognize your Google or Facebook sign-in. You may ask us to delete your account; we will remove or anonymize personal data unless we must retain it (for example, completed payment records or legal holds).
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures such as hashed passwords, HTTPS, and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password if you sign in with email, and keep your Google or Facebook account secure.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information (you can update some details in Account)
- Delete your account and related personal data, subject to legal exceptions
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority
To exercise these rights, email hello@shadikajora.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
10. Children
ShadiKaJora is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International users
ShadiKaJora is used by the desi diaspora worldwide. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our hosting, Stripe, Google, or Meta process data. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred in this way.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice (for example, a banner or email) when required. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
