Terms of Service
Last updated September 20, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and ShadiKaJora for use of our website and marketplace (the “Service”). By creating an account, listing an outfit, or completing checkout, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date will change, and continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
1. The Service
ShadiKaJora is a peer-to-peer marketplace for new and pre-loved Indian and Pakistani wedding and festive wear — including lehengas, sarees, anarkalis, sherwanis, and similar outfits. Users may list items for sale, for rent, or both; shoppers may buy or rent through checkout.
We provide the platform, listing tools, and Stripe-powered checkout. We are not the seller or renter of listed outfits unless we clearly say otherwise. Contracts for a specific outfit are between the buyer or renter and the listing seller.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use ShadiKaJora. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details and for keeping your password or Google/Facebook account secure.
You may register with email and password, or continue with Google or Facebook. You may not impersonate another person, create accounts for abuse, or share your login. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.
Buyer accounts can shop, save wishlists, and check out. Seller accounts can create listings. Admin accounts may review listings and manage categories. Switching to a seller account is offered in your Account page when required.
3. Listings
If you list an outfit, you represent that you have the right to sell or rent it, that your photos and description are accurate, and that the item is not stolen, counterfeit in a way you conceal, or otherwise unlawful to transfer.
- New listings start as pending review and are not shown to shoppers until approved.
- We may refuse, hide, or remove listings that are misleading, offensive, or outside our categories.
- You set the asking price (sale price and/or rental fee). Prices are shown in the currency on the listing, typically USD.
- You must keep availability, size, and condition information truthful. If an item sells or is no longer available, update or remove the listing.
We may use listing photos and text to operate and promote the Service (for example, on browse pages and social previews). You keep ownership of your content and grant us a non-exclusive license to display it for those purposes.
4. Buying and renting
When you check out, you agree to pay the listed price through Stripe and to complete the transaction in good faith. For rentals, the price shown is what the seller asks for the rental period or deposit — you must confirm dates, return condition, and shipping directly with the seller after payment.
A completed checkout typically marks a sale listing unavailable. We do not guarantee that an outfit will fit, match photos exactly, or arrive by a wedding date. Inspect listings carefully and message the seller about alterations, stains, or timing before you rely on an item for an event.
5. Payments, fees, and taxes
Payments are processed by Stripe. By checking out, you also agree to Stripe’s terms. We do not store full card numbers.
ShadiKaJora does not currently charge a separate listing fee in the app. Stripe processing fees apply to payments. We may introduce platform fees later; if we do, we will disclose them before you complete a charge.
You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your sales, rentals, or purchases. We are not a tax advisor.
6. Shipping, pickup, and rentals
ShadiKaJora does not ship outfits ourselves. After payment, buyer (or renter) and seller arrange shipping or local pickup, including cost, insurance, customs, and timing. International shipments are common on this marketplace; delays and duties are between the parties and the carrier.
For rentals, you and the seller must agree on wear dates, return date, cleaning, damage, and deposits. We are not a party to that side agreement, though we may help communicate if a payment dispute arises.
7. Cancellations, returns, and disputes
Because listings are peer-to-peer, return and refund policies are primarily between you and the other user, plus any remedies Stripe offers (such as a payment dispute). We may, at our discretion, review a case, pause a listing, or withhold features if we believe someone is acting in bad faith — but we are not obligated to mediate every disagreement or to refund you from our own funds.
If an item is not as described, contact the other party promptly and keep records (photos, messages). Chargebacks filed without first trying to resolve the issue may lead to account limits.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law or list items you cannot legally sell or rent
- Post false, stolen, or highly misleading listings or photos
- Harass other users or use the Service to spam
- Circumvent checkout to avoid these Terms when we have already facilitated the introduction in a way that violates our rules
- Scrape, overload, or attempt to access accounts or systems without authorization
- Upload malware or content that infringes someone else’s intellectual-property rights
9. Intellectual property
The ShadiKaJora name, site design, and our original content are owned by us or our licensors. Listing photos and descriptions remain the listing user’s responsibility. If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, email hello@shadikajora.com with a description of the work, the URL, and your contact details.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that listings are accurate, that users are who they claim to be, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We do not endorse particular sellers, outfits, or designers. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShadiKaJora and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost outfits, or missed events, arising from your use of the Service or from transactions with other users.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount of fees we actually received from you in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100. Some places do not allow these limits; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify ShadiKaJora against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your listings, your transactions with other users, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that should survive (including listings you already sold, payment records, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of ShadiKaJora, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country give you non-waivable rights. Courts in that operator’s principal place of business will have jurisdiction, except that you may have the right to bring claims in your local courts if the law requires.
